Per Diem Information

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you’re looking for freedom and flexibility, or you want to amplify your current income, per diem shifts are a great option. Here’s some useful information to help you decide if working PRN is right for you.

What are the experience requirements?

All per diem positions require at least 1 year of experience since no training is offered. Some facilities may require 2 years of experience.

What are the location requirements?

To work per diem with us, you must reside within 1.5-2 hours of the facility. The hospitals we work with can confirm shifts 1.5-2 hours before the start time and we want to make sure you have enough time to get to your shift. However, some facilities will require you to be within 50 miles as well.

How long is the process to get started?

Our compliance process takes approximately 4 weeks on average, but can take anywhere from 3-5 weeks depending on the facility and orientation schedule.

Can I work per diem around my travel assignment?

Yes, if you’ll be in the area for at least 8 consecutive weeks after the 2-5 weeks it takes for compliance and can provide at least 4 days of availability per month.

Is there a minimum shift requirement?

We prefer that you provide a minimum of 4 days of availability per month. If something comes up and you can’t provide the necessary availability, we understand and ask that you let our staffing team know. If you go 90 days without a shift, you’ll be automatically inactivated.

Can I work at multiple facilities?

Yes, if the facility is located within a 1.5-hour commute. The requirement of 4 monthly shifts is not tied to one facility. The shift requirement is overall, not per hospital.

How does scheduling work?

Work shifts based on your schedule. Scheduling is done through our Shifts mobile app. In the app, you can view a list of available shifts that you can match yourself to. If you don’t see a shift available on the day you want to work, you can also provide your availability to work that day, so you’ll be matched as soon as a shift becomes available.

How do I get paid?

You’ll be paid weekly via direct deposit. Every Friday is payday! Per diem shifts are paid at just the hourly rate. There are no reimbursements or stipends for travel available.
